 Mountain View, Calif. – Aug. 11, 2010

News Facts

  • BDNA Corporation has signed a reseller partner agreement with BrightPlanIT, Inc., a Buffalo, NY-based network consulting, systems integration, network security, training and development service provider focused on maximizing value from Microsoft Windows platform enterprise IT infrastructures.
  • Initially, BrightPlanIT and BDNA indicate they will focus on Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 migration projects leveraging BDNA’s IT Genome Center products and technologies.

Optimizing the Migration Path

  •  BrightPlanIT will deploy BDNA’s IT Genome Center products, including BDNA Technopedia™, BDNA Discover ™ and BDNA Normalize ™, along with third-party solutions and BrightPlanIT services, to help end customers assess migration readiness of IT assets down to the individual personal computer level.
  • The BDNA products enable BrightPlanIT to assess and plan migrations on both the hardware and software levels.
  • With regard to hardware, BDNA Normalize can process both BDNA Discover and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) asset inventory data to first take an accurate census of devices on customers’ network followed by assessment of individual computers’ migration readiness.
  • At the software level, BDNA Normalize can identify, categorize and provide vital information about software installed in the infrastructure, with special attention to deviations from configuration standards, potential licensing issues and existence of undocumented or rogue software in the customer infrastructure.

BDNA Partner Ecosystem

  •  BrightPlanIT joins a growing ecosystem of go-to-market and technology partners focused on applying BDNA’s IT Genome Center products to client problem solving.
  • BDNA’s IT Genome Center solution set, which includes BDNA Technopedia, BDNA Discover and BDNA Normalize products, helps enterprise IT managers improve the speed and quality of IT management decision making, reduce IT cost of ownership, and enhance the value of new IT investment and initiatives.
  • BDNA Normalize correlates customer infrastructure configuration data generated by Microsoft SCCM or other asset inventory products with information from BDNA Technopedia, the industry’s most comprehensive encyclopedia of technical and product life cycle information containing more than 9.5 million data points on more than 87,000 commercial IT product models and versions.
  • BDNA IT Genome Center offerings can be resold as products, delivered in the context of managed services, or support IT asset management consulting programs.

Supporting Quotes

Walker White, BDNA CTO, said: “With overwhelmingly positive reviews of Windows 7, coupled with Microsoft’s plans to discontinue support for Windows XP, over the next 18 months we should see a mass migration of enterprise IT to the new technology. BrightPlanIT is one of the market’s most respected Microsoft-focused system consultant/integrator companies, and we can’t think of a better organization to apply BDNA technologies to maximizing the end customer value of enterprise scale Windows 7, Office 2010 and other technology change movements.”

Skip Gould, president and CEO of BrightPlanIT, said: “It’s a given that IT programs need to look before they leap into any fundamental migration, especially one on the scale of the movement to Windows 7. Bringing BDNA IT Genome Center technologies into the picture goes well beyond ordinary pre-migration due diligence. BDNA offers opportunities to create value at every step of the migration process—software license optimization, identifying consolidation opportunities, identifying and purging rogue assets—the list goes on. BDNA offers an outstanding technology base, and we look forward to working with them to exceed expectations of our end customers.”
