BDNA Insight
BDNA Insight creates a trusted, complete system of record for all assets and layers of IT resources, delivering the transparency and insight necessary to measure and manage the business of IT. Despite the magnitude of the enterprise investment in technology, few organizations have accurate, up-to-date information about the technology that powers the business. They lack the visibility to measure IT effectiveness, assess the impact of policies and decisions, and support IT accountability to the business as a whole.
The BDNA Catalog
The BDNA Catalog is a repository of IT content that drives the discovery, normalization and enrichment of the IT inventory discovered by BDNA Insight. First, the BDNA Catalog stores all the fingerprints used to identify hardware and software assets as well as their relationship. Second, the BDNA Catalog provides an exhaustive taxonomy for categorizing and normalizing discovered data. Finally, the BDNA Catalog provides extensive market data to enrich the collected IT inventory with relevant market data such as software support and hardware power consumption information. If BDNA Insight were a car, the BDNA Catalog would be the gas.
BDNA Maps
No IT device is an island. Data center assets (application servers, web servers, databases, storage devices) are, by definition, linked together in configurations that deliver critical services. BDNA Maps provide expansive and relevant dependency mapping of all key IT infrastructure components. BDNA Maps provides a unique approach to give you a highly useful and practical view of your IT environment to support key initiatives such as data center moves and consolidations, software upgrades and migrations.
BDNA for Consolidation
In today’s economic environment, IT organizations are under pressure to cut costs without reducing service. For many enterprises and government agencies, it’s time to further consolidate multiple data centers and redundant or little-used systems to realize better efficiencies. In a recent Ziff Davis Enterprise survey, 32% of US respondents identified data center consolidations as a key strategy for cost reduction; 36% identified server consolidations as another strategy, and 42% determined server virtualization as a key strategy.
BDNA for Green IT
You need to cut energy costs for your business – who doesn’t? And IT is a great place to start, as one of the biggest energy consumers. But how do you get started? Does it take a big effort and investment to make a difference?
BDNA for License Compliance
Software licensing is getting more complex every day. Vendors change licensing terms, bundle solutions and buy other vendors. Employees install things you don’t know about. Virtualization spawns unknown copies of licensed software. And, in these tough economic times, software publishers are going after existing clients to extract new revenues.

BDNA CMDB Accelerator for IBM® Tivoli® CCMDB
The IBM Tivoli Change and Confi guration Management Database (CCMDB) integrates data, workfl ows and policies to support service management best practices aligned with standards such as ITIL V3. But for large IT organizations undergoing constant change, populating the repository with technology asset data and keeping it up-to-date are serious challenges.
